Norma Hernandez was a dedicated San Clemente Chamber of Commerce employee for 17 years, and a devoted wife and mother of 5 young kids. Born and raised in San Clemente, Norma was a hardworking, kind, humble, vibrant and loving person. She came from an immigrant family (both parents are from Mexico) with very little money. Norma was cherished by many of the chamber’s business members and staff; she always enjoyed talking and working with the members to promote their businesses.
Norma graduated from the Institute for Organization Management in 2013. In December of 2015 Norma was diagnosed with a brain tumor. The cancer proved to be very aggressive, and she passed away in July 2016. This scholarship will honor her dedication to the San Clemente business community and help fund educational pursuits of underprivileged Hispanic children living throughout South County.
